Roxy decided to bring these little pups into the world on our bed! She pulled through the process like a trooper and quickly slipped into her role as a doting Mom.

Today the pups had their first car ride - they went to the Vet to have their dewclaws removed. They were suprisingly settled and quiet during the trip.

The pups are doing really well - they are getting chubbier and more puppyish every day! Their eyes are almost open, and their barks are sounding more like barks than like quacks or meows! They are moving around alot and are starting to lift themselves up on their feet more and more.

Today we decided to supplement the puppies on some puppy milk-replacer mixed with some soft food. It didn't take their tongues long to figure out what to do, but figuring out where to point those tongues was a bit more challenging! :D
Their sight and hearing are both developing, although neither will be fully developed for a while. But they are definately more in-tune with their surroundings, and with eachother, every day.

The pups have changed alot in the last day! They have become very aware of eachother and are even starting to play a bit - pawing at eachother and biting eachother's noses. Also, we placed different colored collars on them today and we will soon start doing individual updates as well as the group updates.

The pups are growing by leaps and bounds! They are eating the soft food we put out for them eagerly. And we have noticed they often make an effort to use the training pads that we have laid out for them. Today they had their first experience with being outside.

The pups are 4 weeks old today! Today we moved them outside on a more permanent basis because they were needing more space and because they are now at the age where socializing with the other dogs is very important. They are safe in our dog run when noone is around to keep an eye on them, but when we are in the yard (which is often) they will be able to wander around and investigate in the yard. They have been starting to nibble on dry dog food, although we still feed them soft food and they get milk from Mom. And today they were able to spend time with each of our other dogs.

Today the pups went to the Vet for their shots, deworming and check-ups. Only a couple got motion-sick in the van and overall they were very well-behaved pups! I think they stole the hearts of everyone at the clinic!
